Yokohama casino opponents launch information website

Opponents of Yokohama’s bid for an IR license have launched a website to provide public information and to coordinate actions between various anti-casino groups.

The website went live on November 29, and it includes links to relevant city documents, media articles, and a list of names and phone numbers of a dozen local anti-casino groups.

It is likely that having such a central information exchange will serve to promote larger public attendance at various anti-casino rallies and lecture events.

The man behind the website is 72-year-old Akiyoshi Takanashi, a Yokohama resident and veteran of a number of left-leaning causes.
