Your Daily Asia Gaming eBrief: Macau should leverage visa-free policy

Good Morning. As Macau aims to further diversify its tourism pool, the SAR should look to leverage its visa-free entry policy, allowing visitors to also go into China. According to an aviation expert, the current scheme in place for groups should be expanded to individuals, allowing Macau to act as an entry and exit point, in particular for business travelers. The move could help encourage more MICE and higher-spend tourists, and act in conjunction with government plans to link up with the Hong Kong and Greater Bay Area airports.

Visa-free policy could act as draw for int'l tourists

Leveraging Macau's visa-free entry policy - which currently encompasses some 81 countries, could boost its international tourism draw, says an aviation expert. By allowing visitors to also access China, in particular the Greater Bay Area, Macau can benefit from increased business travel and draw more MICE spend, notes Celia Lao.
