AGEM Index reports increase of 4.5 percent in February


The AGEM Index reported an increase of 4.5 percent, or 8.54 points, at 197.00 last month, compared to Jan. 2016 and also reported a year-on-year increase compared with Feb. 2015 for the fifth consecutive month, according to a AGEM release.

Eight out of 14 global gaming manufacturers saw a month-to-month increase in stock price.

The association said the positive results was as a result of high performance from Scientific Games Corporation (contributing 3.69 points), Konami Corp (1.47 points), Astro Corp. (1.16 points), whilst negative contributors included Daktronics, Inc (-0.43 points), INTRALOT S.A. (-0.13 points).

AGEM also highlighted certain companies who released their financial results for the period ending Dec. 31, 2015. Ainsworth Game Technology reported a 26.8 increase in revenue compared to the six months ending Dec. 31, 2014.

Scientific Games Corp also had further mention, noting the company reported revenues of $737 million, a 4.2 percent gain from the previous year.

Agilysys (AGYS) reported revenue of $31.3 million in the company’s fiscal third quarter of 2016, representing a 26.5-percent increase over the same period of the previous year.

“While selected gaming suppliers reported positive results in a number of areas, it will be important to monitor the balance of the sector to provide additional insight,” said the association.
