Air Seoul to add flights to Macau

Asiana Airlines yesterday announced that one of its low-cost carriers, Air Seoul, will begin operating some of its flights including to Macau.

Air Seoul will take over routes to several Japanese cities and Southeast Asian regions including to Siem Reap (Cambodia), Kota Kinabalu (Malaysia) and Macau. Asiana Air handled all of these flights except for departures to Nagasaki and Macau, but these routes proved unprofitable.

The company made the decision to switch carriers after many passengers commented that they would rather travel in a more affordable aircraft.

Air Seoul is the second airline subsidiary of Asiana, which also operates Air Busan. Air Busan is focused on domestic flights, while Air Seoul is aiming to build a network on short-range international flights.
