Amax sells mobile business to Cambodia casino operator


Amax International Holdings has sold its mobile gaming business to Galaxy World Co. Ltd, a casino operator in Cambodia for HK$30 million (US$3.8 million).

The mobile games apps include 30 offline mobile game app’s source codes, which cover the areas of leisure and entertainment, education and intellectual, sport, and adventures, according to Amax’s filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Amax said it made the decision to dispose of its mobile games business in order to focus more resources on the group’s gaming business and IT Solutions Business.

The group currently operates a gaming business in Vanuatu and a VIP room in Cambodia.

Amax said the proceeds of the disposal will be allocated for investment opportunities in Hong Kong and the Asia Pacific - in either the gaming or information technology industries if and when the opportunity arises.
