Authorities unearth Crown's communication with high-rollers

Chinese authorities have obtained communications documenting the movement of millions of dollars offshore by Chinese high-rollers, Fairfax Media has revealed.

Computers, laptops and mobile phones belonging to the Crown Resorts' 18 detained employees were seized by Chinese authorities, revealing communications on the provision and repayment of credit with Crown.

“They'll certainly have a local database of players that they service in China," a former Crown senior VIP employee told Fairfax Media. "Player names, details, contact, wife, kids, birthday, how big they play, what their average daily theoretical is, how often they visited, what [VIP] programs they're on. How often they visit, how often they lose each trip, the local [staff] will have those details."

The latest revelation is another blow for Crown in the ongoing crackdown on VIP gaming from Chinese authorities, which has sent shock waves across the gaming industry in Asia.
