Betgenius and SportingPulse merge to form Genius Sports

The merger of technology companies Betgenius and SportingPulse has given rise to Genius Sports, a london-based sports data and analysis provider for sports, media and betting markets, Forbes reports.

The companies together will employ 750 people across 10 locations worldwide with partners including more than 100 leagues and sporting federations such as the English Premier League, La Liga, Major League Baseball, ATP, WTA, FIBA/IBF and over 150 basketball leagues worldwide.

Clients of the newly formed sports data company include Paddy Power, Betfair, Sky Betting & Gaming, Betsson and Intralot, as well as Major League Baseball.

“Genius Sports has a new name and a new look, but our mandate, mission and values remain the same,” said Nick Maywald, founder of SportingPulse and now Genius Sports’ CCO. “We believe the collection, protection and commercialisation of sports data is critical to the future success and growth of the sports industry. We understand that as a leading sports data and technology provider, we must build on our reputation as a trusted partner to the sports industry with innovation, intelligence and integrity.”
