Caesars Entertainment considers sale of interactive unit

Casino operator Caesars Entertainment Corp is considering the sale of its interactive gaming unit, local media reports.

The bids value Caesars Interactive Entertainment at about $4 billion, said a local source, who added though the operator will consider the proposals, the agreement to sell isn’t assured. The operator has reportedly received bids from financial firms and gaming, media and entertainment companies.

There is no formal sales process, and it is possible there won’t be any deal, said Mitch Garber, who runs the interactive unit, in interview with The Wall Street Journal. “We want to hear what people have to say, for sure,” he said.

Caesars Interactive Entertainment is one of the largest mobile and social casino companies, with games including Slotomania and Bingo Blitz.

Last year, the interactive unit recorded sales of $766.5 million, up about 30 percent year on year.
