Cambodia vows to block online gambling sites

The Cambodian government has signaled a round of crackdowns on illegal online gambling sites.

The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications is reportedly attempting to block six online gambling websites that it has become aware of, and the national police chief has vowed to hunt down the operators and “bring them to justice.”

The Camboadian authorities suggest that a majority of the culprits are Chinese nationals, whom they describe as working hand-in-hand with organized crime, money launderers, and even terrorists.

There is reportedly some cooperation between the governments of Cambodia and China on this issue.
