Canidrome submits revised greyhound plan to IACM

The Macau (Yat Yuen) Canidrome Co on Friday submitted its revised plan to the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) regarding the track’s 600 greyhounds, MNA reports.

Last week, head of IACM rejected the Canidrome’s initial proposal to rehome its greyhounds and gave them one week to submit a revised plan.

IACM head Jose Tavares da Silva said the previously requested one year extension by the Canidrome to work out its relocation strategy was “unacceptable”.

On Friday, Angela Leong on Kei, owner of the Canidrome, said that the greyhounds are now open for any potential adopters.

“I am here to call on everybody, especially dog lovers and animal lovers, as long as they have the intention to adopt greyhound dogs, feel free to do so,” said Leong.

The company has been ordered to vacate the premises by July 21, 2018.
