Caraga police strengthens efforts against illegal gambling

The Caraga police has intensified its campaign against illegal gambling in the region, with anti-gambling operations up 125 percent year-on-year.

According to an official government announcement, Police Chief Supt. Rolando Felix of Caraga said that police have arrested a total of 467 persons for illegal gambling from January to October 2017, compared to the same period in 2016 when only 207 arrests were made.

Felix said the move was part of a drive to stop illegal gambling based on Executive Order (EO) No. 13 issued by President Rodrigo Duterte.

“Caraga police vowed to sustain its pro-active operations and reinforce its efforts with the active community support to wipe out all forms of criminal activities, including illegal gambling in order to achieve a safer Caraga region,” said Felix.
