Casino cash processing

One of the challenges large resort casinos face is the multitude of currencies being used at each of their operations.

In order to correctly process these various currencies, manual handling has been inevitable, including moving boxes around, coordination, and wait times. These manual steps do not only pose security hazards, they also cost money. Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) has brought an all-in-one high-speed counting and sorting solution to the market that consolidates the various processes into one.

With this end-to-end solution, banknotes are counted, identified and authenticated, then sorted by denomination, series, orientation, and fitness for circulation – all in a single run. Gaming tickets are processed in the same run. As an important extra, used player cards and table chips can be shredded if required.

The system produces customized, intelligent reports which management and accounting can access at any given time, since cash processing is integrated with the casino’s back-office systems. To check on the progress of cash operations, managers and supervisors just need to log in to the server from wherever they are.

The integrated solution is rounded off by customized process design and count room layout in order to guarantee smooth and efficient workflows.

Processes become up to three times faster with this solution, while, at the same time, being much more accurate and secure. The number of individual operations decreases, freeing up resources that can be dedicated to other tasks. With the up-to-the-minute view of the progress of each operation, managers and supervisors are always on top of developments, enabling them to make quick decisions often required in day-to-day business.

Giesecke & Devrient will be exhibiting at stand 4216.
