Chiba RFI gets 19 responses

A total of nineteen companies responded to Chiba city’s RFI on the possibility of launching an IR bid at the Makuhari location.

The city did not provide any breakdown of the kinds of companies that responded, except to note that two of them are companies based inside Chiba city itself.

The initial registration process lasted from August 8 and 22, and is to be followed by the full reports and other information provided by the nineteen companies between October 15 and 28. Hearings with individual companies will be conducted in November. The results are expected to be published by March 2020 at the latest.

At a press conference last week, Chiba Mayor Toshihito Kumagai, stated that Yokohama’s entry into the IR race would have no immediate impact on his administration, and that Chiba would be moving forward with its own IR investigation process as planned.
