Clean energy forum held in Macau

The 8th International Forum on Clean Energy (IFCE) was held in Macau on Wednesday, bringing together over two hundred representatives from government, industry, and academia from around the world to discuss about the green development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Among the key speakers was Ambrose So, vice-chairman and chief executive officer of SJM Holdings, as well as the director-general of the IFCE, who praised Macau as a successful example of the “one country, two systems” principle and asserted that Macau could play a key role in green development.

Discussions focused on technologies such as offshore wind power, hydrogen, as well as issues like green finance.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area is made up of nine Chinese cities in Guangdong province and two special administrative territories, Hong Kong, and Macau. The integrated development of this region has recently been a key policy slogan for the Chinese government.
