Couple arrested for stealing $53,000 worth of chips

A couple has been accused of embezzling HK$415,000 (US$53,000) worth of chips from a Macau casino, local media reports.

According to a report from the Judiciary Police, the first incident took place on December 28, 2017, when the man went to exchange cash for chips at the table where his wife was working.

Each time, he received chips worth more than the amount he handed over.

The couple attempted the same strategy on January 24, leading the casino to file the complaint with police. Both were detained on the same day.
