Court of Second Appeal sustains decision in favor of Amax Intl

The Macau Court of Second Appeal (TSI) has upheld a decision favoring the parent company of Amax International in its ownership battle for Beijing Imperial Palace Hotel.

Empresa Hoteleira has been fighting for ownership of the property against Victory Success Holdings, a company owned by Alvin Chau’s SunCity Group since 2012, when the two companies went their separate ways.

Last year, Victory Success objected to a court injunction that returned the temporary ownership of the property to Empresa Hoteleira, after Victory Success staged a 40-man forcible takeover of the property.

The case is still going at the Court of First Instance.
