Crown employees to face court this month

Australia-listed Crown Resorts announced on Tuesday that all of its detained employees in China, as well as those who have been released on bail, have been charged with offenses related to the promotion of gambling.

Last October, a total of 18 Crown employees were detained following a police crackdown on gambling-related marketing, which is an offence in China.

Among the detained employees is Jason O’Connor, a senior international VIP manager of Crown Resorts.

On Tuesday, Crown Resorts issued a release to the Australian Stock Exchange, noting that their cases have now been referred to the Baoshan District Court.

The court in Shanghai has reportedly set a June 26 hearing date for the employees to answer the charges.

Crown in its filing said it would not make any further comments as the matter is now before the court.
