DICJ mulls Studio City VIP table application

The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) has confirmed it is analyzing an application submitted by Melco Crown Entertainment to install VIP tables at its Studio City resort, Macau Business Daily reports.

In a response to the news outlet, the gaming regulator said that Melco Crown hadn’t specified “if they want to [get] new tables or move existing ones from other properties”.

The operator first announced it was considering adding VIP gambling facilities to its Studio City integrated resort in July.

Melco Crown’s CEO and executive director, Lawrence Ho previously stated he hoped the government to authorize 30 VIP gaming tables for Studio City.

According to local sources, junket operators Suncity Group and Tak Chun Group are among the gaming promoters that will operate these VIP rooms.
