DOLE increases requirements for foreign POGO workers

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has added extra hoops for foreign nationals applying for alien employment permits (AEP) and seeking to work in POGOs, according to local media reports.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said that in addition to the regular AEP requirements, the worker will also be required to submit evidence that the POGO has been given clearance by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. to resume operations.

Bello said the new policy will cover foreign nationals to be employed in POGOs operating in areas under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) and general community quarantine (GCQ), as only certain industries under MECQ and GCQ have been allowed to resume operations.
