Elaine Wynn successfully kicks two directors from board

In a surprise move, two directors from Wynn’s board have announced they will be stepping down as board members and will not stand for re-election.

The news comes just two days before the annual board meeting, set for Wednesday 16 May.

One of the directors, John Hagenbuch, has most recently been on the receiving end of Elaine Wynn’s crusade of removing “legacy directors” from the Wynn board.

Hagenbuch said he will no longer stand for re-election, along with Robert Miller, who has tendered his resignation.

“I do not want my candidacy to detract from the important progress we have made throughout the organization, including the ongoing refreshment process this board has initiated,” Hagenbuch said in a statement.

The push to reinvigorate Wynn’s board by Ms. Wynn comes after allegations of Steve Wynn’s sexual misconduct during his tenure at the company, forcing his resignation. The members of the board of directors during this time have been accused by Ms. Wynn of failing to uphold corporate governance.
