Fonbet Russia launches new sports betting website

Russian bookmaker Fonbet has launched its new online sports betting service bkfon.ru, becoming Russia’s sixth licensed operator, SBC news reports.

In order to comply with Russian online betting laws, the new Fonbet property will adhere to strict payment processing regulations monitored by state regulators, which will see bkfon.ru channel its transactions through the centralised TSUPIS system.

Additionally, as a SRO syndicated bookmaker, bkfon.ru will utilise Russian payment service QIWI as its lead transaction service.

bkfon.ru follows Liga Stavok, Winline, 888.ru, 1XBet and Leon.ru as Russian approved online betting operators by Roskomnadzor.

Based in Moscow, Fonbet currently operates over 800 betting points within Russia as well as licensed online betting services. Furthermore, the bookmaker has been the official sponsor of Russia’s National Football League (FNL) second division for season 2015/16.

At the start of 2016, the Russian government revamped its online gambling regulatory framework, specifying that licensed bookmakers would be charged with a 10 percent tax on betting wagers.
