G3 confirms founder of Setanta Sports TV


Founder of the Setanta sports TV network and independent gambling industry consultant Lasha Machavariani has been confirmed as a speaker for the Georgia Gaming Congress.

Machavariani will be speaking about the implementation of gambling projects, comparing the gambling industries in Georgia and Russia.

"I will provide real examples that demonstrate peculiarities of the market in both countries. I think it will be interesting to those who are aware of the situation in Georgia, and those who are familiar with the situation in Russia, as few people are familiar enough with both markets,” said Machavariani.

Machavariani is a graduate of the Grenoble School of Management. Having returned to his homeland since, Machavariani has held leading positions in big companies including Rakeen Development, which has invested over a billion dollars in the Georgian economy.

Later as a director general, he developed the gambling project Playadjara.com. He continued his career in the gambling industry as a business development director and a head of marketing department at Adjarabet.com. In January 2015, Lasha founded an international television network Setanta Sports that is currently being aired on two channels in several countries.

Meanwhile, former Georgia MP Kakha Kukava, who serves as the head of legal for NGO Gambling Business Monitoring has also confirmed his attendance as a speaker this year.

As former MP, founder of political party “Free Georgia”, and a member of Tbilisi city council, Kukava will speak on behalf of the NGO on the protection of labor rights of gambling industry participants, as well as gambling culture regulation.

Attendees will learn how to avoid disputes with personnel, which requirements of employer are illegal, and in which cases employees can get money compensation for violation of their rights.

The Georgia Gaming Congress will be held on March 1, 2017 in Tbilisi.
