Galaxy Entertainment bringing Manchester City Football Club to Japan

Macau-based IR operator Galaxy Entertainment announced on Wednesday that they will sponsor the annual “EuroJapan Cup” for two consecutive years beginning this summer. Within this framework, English Premier League champions Manchester City Football Club will play the Yokohama F. Marinos at Yokohama’s Nissan Stadium on July 27.

Ted Chan, chief operating officer of Galaxy Entertainment Japan stated, “We are very excited to be bringing the Galaxy Entertainment EuroJapan Cup to Japan for the first time this summer. Galaxy will continue to support a wide variety of sports and cultural events by bringing the world's best entertainment to Japan while helping to raise Japan’s profile across the world. We also hope through our sponsorship to support the development of soccer in Japan and make a contribution to local communities for many years to come.”

The 2020 EuroJapan Cup will be held in Osaka.

Galaxy Entertainment has built a strong team of executives within Japan over the past year or so, but this is its first major initiative aimed at wooing the Japanese general public.
