Gaming taxes dip 5.9 percent in 2016


Income derived from gaming taxes decreased 5.9 percent year-on-year to MOP 79.5 billion (US$9.9 billion) in 2016, according to data from the Financial Services Bureau (DSF).

The amount makes up 77.6 percent of the total revenue of the government, which saw MOP 102.4 billion in taxes in the year.

In 2016, Macau’s gaming sector raked in MOP 223 billion, down 3.3 percent compared to the full-year before.
