Genting’s Resorts World Birmingham to open Oct. 21

Genting’s £150 ($230 million) million leisure destination Resorts World Birmingham in England is due to open on October 21, though its casino will launch some days later, according to local media.

The Birmingham Mail reported that RWB announced it will welcome visitors to its shops, restaurants and bars from the morning of the launch day.

The lakeside complex will house high-street retailers such as Nike and Gap and will have 18 bars and restaurants.

The Genting International Casino – the biggest in Britain – will open to celebrate the launch of the new James Bond movie on October 26.

The four star Genting Hotel, with five star suites and a spa, will welcome guests from November 2.

"We are very excited following a two year build programme that Resorts World Birmingham is coming to life, said Genting UK president and COO Peter Brooks.

Resorts World Birmingham will be the fifth property to open under Malaysian company Genting Group.
