Global Poker League sets sights on India

The Global Poker League is set to enter the Indian market with the introduction of GPL India.

This regional league will take six of India’s largest, poker friendly cities, creating a national team-based league that will function as a promotional platform for poker in the country.

The winners of the league's 1st season will be invited to compete against the toughest GPL teams from around the world in the GPL association’s overarching World Championships.

Created by Mediarex Sports & Entertainment, the Global Poker League (GPL) represents the game’s first international team-based competition.

The GPL is underpinned by the Global Poker Index (the poker industry’s consensus player ranking authority), which currently ranks over 550,000 live poker players across 97 countries. Season 1 of the GPL featured 72 of the top 1000 ranked poker players in the world competing via teams in the Americas, Europe & Asia - aggregating over 8 million views, 400+ hours of livestreamed poker content & featured live events filmed at GPL’s studios in Europe & at the League’s signature ‘Cube’ arena in Las Vegas.
