Goa’s sixth offshore casino to hold off operations

Golden Globe Hotels Private Limited has promised not to operate its offshore casino until the next hearing even if granted a license by the state government, local media reports.

The matter came about after a government representative informed the court that no renewal license has yet been issued to the offshore casino run by Golden Globe Hotels.

Last month, Social activist Aires Rodrigues petitioned the Goa bench against renewing the license for Golden Globe Hotels, saying the State Cabinet had already agreed not to issue or renew any licenses.

The High Court had adjourned the matter to November 15.
