IPI denies FBI raid on Saipan offices

Saipan casino operator Imperial Pacific International Holdings Ltd. has denied news reports that its Saipan offices were raided by agents from the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, according to the company’s latest filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

In a filing from the operator on Friday, Imperial Pacific said that neither “the Group nor any of its staff has received any investigation notice from any of the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation or government departments.”

The company also announced that it will begin to take “formal legal actions” against one particular news outlet for “repeated unfounded report over the past year based on third party sources.”

The company noted fluctuations in the price and increases in trading volume of the shares of the company.
