Konami gaming division net revenue up 9.8 percent in 15H1

Konami Holdings Corp’s gaming and systems division announced that its net revenue for the first six months of the year amounted to JPY15 billion ($124.2 million), up 9.8 percent year on year.

Business in Malaysia, Philippines, North American and Australian markets drove product sales, the company said.

However, the company saw operating expenses rise due to higher product approval fees and product development costs as the company has sought expansion of its product line-up in the North American and Australian markets.

Revenue from pachislot and pachinko machines in 15H1 came to JPY5.4 million compared with JPY4.5 billion in the same period the year before.

The company said in 15Q it achieved a solid number of installations of its casino management system, SYNKROS, throughout North American states, and completed construction of new facility in Las Vegas, “allowing increased R&D and volume of production to cater to the growing demand of slot machines and casino management systems in the global gaming market.”
