Labor bureau investigating death of a construction worker

The Labor Affairs Bureau is investigating the death of a 50-year old construction worker from the Mainland who was killed while working on the Sands China site in Cotai.

According to a preliminary investigation, the metal frame he was working on came loose and a belt used to tie the framework together broke, causing around three tons of material to fall on him, TDM Macau reported.

The man was pronounced dead after receiving emergency treatment at the hospital. 

The bureau has ordered the contractor to terminate the crane operations and has requested a report on the accident. Further investigations are underway.
