Laguna Lang Co gaming operator selection likely in 2016

Laguna Lang Co. is moving ahead with the second phase of its integrated resort project in Lang Co in Thua Thien-Hue province Vietnam, with the selection of an operator to run a casino at the resort likely to happen in 2016, the company said in a press release.

Phase II will include a condominium development and additional residential hill villas overlooking the East Sea. Phase IIA will include additional luxury accommodations and the possible addition of a gaming facility.

Phase I was comprised of a 57-villa Banyan Tree resort, 229 room Angsana resort, luxury residences, Nick Faldo designed championship golf course, two spas, ten restaurants and bars and a conference center.

The selection of a gaming operator is expected to coincide with the convening of the National Assembly in early 2016 and subsequent discussions on new gambling regulation, it said.

"Few people outside of the Asian hospitality industry realise the breadth and scope of Laguna Lang Co.,” said Andrew Klebanow, a partner at Global Market Advisors, which undertook an assessment for the games facility. “This will ultimately be an iconic resort destination that will exceed the expectations of those who have ever seen Laguna Phuket.”
