Landing says chairman back at work

Landing International said its chairman, Yang Zhihui, who disappeared in August has resumed his duties at the company.

According to a statement, Yang said he had been “assisting the relevant department of the People’s Republic of China with its investigation during the period of his absence. It gave no details as to the probe, or the department.

“The board would like to inform the shareholders of the company and investors that the business and operations of the group have been steady and normal currently and during the period while Mr. Yang was temporarily absent,” it said.

Landing put out a statement on August 23rd saying it had not been able to contact its chairman and executive director. The news triggered a slump in the company’s share price, which had already come under pressure after Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte sacked the board of its local partner in a Manila resort project during a ground-breaking ceremony. The fate of that property is still unclear.

The company also operates the Jeju Shinhwa World IR on the South Korean island of the same name.
