Largest casino cruise ship to begin construction in April


Malaysian firm Podiumspot Capital Group is reportedly finalizing plans to build the world’s largest casino cruise ship, the Crusino, local media reports.

With construction to begin in April, the cruise ship measures 295 meters in length and 36 meters in width, and is able to carry up to 3,200 passengers and 900 crew members with 1,330 rooms on board.

The Crusino will feature two special decks for gaming, and is claimed to be the largest casino on sea. It will also include a swimming pool, jacuzzi, restaurants, cafés, bars, shopping outlets, a theatre, a library, a spa, sauna and a fitness centre.

T. Leonard, the CEO of Podiumspot, owners of Crusino Cruise Services Ltd said construction costs for the casino cruise ship is estimated at US$560 million and will be carried out in shipyards in China or Vietnam.

The ship is expected to embark on its maiden voyage by April 2020.
