Legend Palace to start trial operations mid-Jan

Legend Palace Hotel will start trial operations in mid-January, just before Chinese New Year, according to Macau Legend Development co-chairman and chief executive officer David Chow.

The hotel development, which is the latest project by Macau Legend Development Ltd., is located at the end of the Fisherman’s Wharf complex on the Macau Peninsula.

The new hotel will have 223 rooms, said Chow, who says the hotel market there still presents opportunities. It will also include a casino.

Chow says he is “cautiously optimistic” about opening the property in January, and said he perceives a necessity for the new hotel to dovetail into the notion of the city as a World Heritage and Cultural Centre.

The chief executive also has affirmed his intention to obtain approval for an 80,000 square foot exhibition hall in the project, which will be submitted in January.
