Macau court rejects Charlie Choi appeal

Charlie Choi, operator of a website which unlawfully disclosed information on indebted gamblers, has had his appeal rejected by the Macau Court of First Instance.

The appeal was reportedly rejected on July 12, but only disclosed recently, according to a report from Ponto Final Macau.

Mr. Choi had been sentenced to six months in prison for failing to delete information of indebted gamblers from his “Wonderful World” website, which violated Macau’s privacy laws.

Choi told Ponto Final that after speaker with his lawyer, he concluded that there is no possibility of appeal.

"There is no remedy but to accept," he said.
