Macau Legend begins construction of Cape Verde casino resort

Construction of Macau Legend Development Ltd’s casino resort in Cape Verde has begun, according to local media.

David Chow Kam Fai, Macau Legend chief executive officer, said at the groundbreaking ceremony that the project is a landmark in cooperation between Cape Verde and China, TDM reports.

In July, 2015, a subsidiary of Macau Legend Development Ltd and the government of Cape Verde signed an agreement to build a casino resort in the Cape Verde capital, Cidade da Praia on Santiago Island.

The project will include hotel and tourism facilities, serviced apartments, villas, a marina and multi-function convention center for approximately €250 million (US$273 million). The company has been awarded a 25-year gaming licence, which will be exclusive for the first 15 years.
