Macau Roosevelt Hotel to host satellite casino

The soon-to-open Macau Roosevelt Hotel, located on the grounds of the Macau Jockey Club will host a new satellite casino, named the Macau Jockey Club Casino, according to Union Gaming in a Monday note.

Located at the western edge of the Macau Jockey Club facility, the 350 five star room hotel has long been rumored to host a gaming facility. The newest signage erected outside the hotel seems to now confirm these rumors, says the brokerage.

While the Macau Jockey Club is already home to the Casino Macau Jockey Club, it is understood that new casino will be located on the same parcel of land.

Union Gaming says it expects that the license will be moved rather than obtaining a new license.

“We believe the new casino at Roosevelt is significantly larger in size than its predecessor and will have a much greater focus on table games. We estimate it could have 25-35 tables and around 100 slots.”

The brokerage noted that it wouldn’t be surprised if the new casino were to have a niche not often covered by satellite casinos.

“...we would not be surprised if the new casino at Roosevelt were to have a unique junket focus, or go after a particular customer niche that is currently unaddressed (e.g. targeting customers from a non-Chinese geography).”
