Mariah Carey to perform at Studio City launch

Studio City, the $3.2 billion Hollywood-inspired integrated resort in Macau, unveiled that its October 27 grand launch party will be headlined by singer Mariah Carey and other high-profile entertainers.

The concert  at the Studio City Event Center will feature the American diva, who has sold more than 200 million records worldwide in a career that has spanned 25 years, along with the ‘King of Dance’ Aaron Kwok and KPop’s SISTAR.

“The opening of Studio City is a global event which is going to put a spotlight on Macau and create waves across the region, so what better way to kick off the show than by bringing in three of the world’s top musical stars?” said Studio City president JD Clayton.

“We believe that their performances will raise the bar even further than this fabulous new integrated entertainment complex and its many attractions have already done.” 

The opening celebrations will also feature the world premiere of “The Audition”, starring actors Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Academy-award winning director Martin Scorsese. 

The film – Macau’s first Hollywood-produced short-movie – is set around a Studio City storyline and represents the very first time these iconic Hollywood stars have all worked together.
