May first week GGR benefits from Labor Day demand

Gaming revenue in Macau has reached MOP5.6 billion (US$692.7 million) in the first week of May, with month-to-date ADR up 27 percent from the prior year period.

According to a note from Bernstein on Monday, the week’s GGR was helped by the Labor Day holidays, though part of the demand had shifted to April.

Mass up was mid single digits compared to April, while VIP volume was up mid-high single digits, said the brokerage.

Should GGR ADR hold steady for the remainder of the month, at MOP 820 to 850 million, May GGR is forecasted to reach between MOP 26.1 and 26.9 billion, up 15 to 1 8 percent year-on-year, said Bernstein.
