Melanie Brock joins board of Sega Sammy Holdings

Australian Melanie Brock has been elected as external director of the board at Sega Sammy Holdings, a measure indicating the firm’s growing commitment to internationalization. All fifteen of the other board members, however, are Japanese men.

Brock, a fluent Japanese language speaker, has three decades of business experience in the country working in a variety of positions linking business and government. She served more than six years as the chair of Australia and New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Japan.

She has been an advisor to many companies, including Crown Resorts, and is CEO of her own Melanie Brock Advisory.

Sega Sammy Holdings has previously indicated that it intends to bid to become an IR operator in Japan.
