MGM and Galaxy win CSR awards

MGM Resorts and Galaxy Entertainment both won awards for their corporate social responsibility programs at an event organized by the Mirror Post of Hong Kong.

The 7th Cross-Strait-Four-Region Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility Award judged nominees from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau on their performance in the categories of Obligations Towards Shareholders; Commitment to Customers; Caring of Employees; Community and Society Relations; Environmental Protection, and Leadership Ability.

Galaxy was awarded the Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility Award, garnering the accolade for a second time.

MGM Resorts said it had won two accolades, as well as the Pacific Asia Travel Association Gold Award for its corporate social responsibility program, “Making Great Moment to the Community.”

The PATA awards are supported by the Macao Government Tourism Office and attracted 200 entries from 87 organizations and individuals worldwide this year.

“The PATA Gold Award recognized that our efforts and commitment to CSR have been widely endorsed by prominent travel professionals worldwide who believe that we are working towards a more responsible travel and tourism industry in the Asia Pacific region,” MGM CEO Grant Bowie said. “All these accolades highlight our commitment to the community of Macau, our team members and the environment.”

GEG founded its volunteer team in 2011 with the goal of supporting underprivileged and vulnerable communities. Members of GEG’s volunteer team have worked with over 120 non-profit groups across China.
