MGM engages with domestic business communities

With its relatively well-developed in-country infrastructure compared to most other international IR operators, MGM Resorts is accelerating its engagement with Japan’s domestic business community in a series of presentations and other events.

For example, Jason Hyland, representative officer and president of MGM Resorts Japan, spoke on Monday at a seminar hosted by the Real Estate Economic Institute in central Tokyo.

Hyland, who previously served many years in Japan as a US diplomat, gave his presentation in the Japanese language. His audience of several dozen people, who were all Japanese businessmen affiliated in some way to the domestic real estate industry, leaned forward in their chairs with interest, especially when Hyland showed visual slides and a video demonstrating what MGM had in mind for a potential Japanese IR.

After his presentation, Hyland explained the purposes to Asia Gaming Brief: “We just think it’s important that we reach out to all different sectors in business, in communities, and to explain our company and what our vision is, and our deep respect for Japan.”
