More than 120 operators confirmed for Betting on Sports 2017

More than 120 operators, 75 top level affiliates and 80 suppliers will be joined by some of the biggest sports organizations in Europe at this year’s Betting on Sports conference, held from September 12-15.

Among the 120 operators at #boscon2017 will be the recently merged Paddy Power Betfair, a premium sponsor of the event, and Ladbrokes Coral, which will be represented on the agenda by the company’s Director of Player Protection Graham Weir on the first day social responsibility session.

Joining them at Olympia Conference Centre will be premium sponsor bet365, first-time exhibitor Mr Green, Sky Bet CEO Richard Flint and BetStars Managing Director Zeno Ossko, who will be speaking in the ‘Leaders on Betting’ track just a year after he joined the Amaya subsidiary from mybet.

Ossko said: "Betting on Sports has a packed agenda, which reflects the challenges and opportunities that the industry currently faces. Of course, I will be keenly interested to hear what my competitive peers are doing, but mostly I’m looking to learn on two fronts: how cutting edge legislative developments and new technological developments may open new markets and opportunities."

Flying the flag for the affiliate sector will be LiveSport Media and OLBG, alongside a trio of star-studded conference speakers. Rebel Penguin CEO Jonas Warrer Petersen will be speaking on protecting revenues via diversification, while the session on ‘Super Affiliates’ will be headlined by XL Media CEO Ory Weihs and Jesper Soegaard, CEO for Better Collective.

Soegaard commented: “Betting on Sports is the most valuable sports betting conference, so I’m excited to share Better Collective’s viewpoint to contribute to the event and the industry as a whole.”

On the supplier side, SBC Events has attracted 80 of the biggest names in the industry, including platinum sponsor OPTIMA, whose CEO Jacob Lopez is speaking in the live betting session in ‘Betting on Racing’, and SBTech, represented by CPO Ian Bradley in the first day’s ‘Betting on Innovation’ track.

There will also be appearances for Sportradar Head of Esports James Watson and Vahe Baloulian, CEO for premium sponsor BetConstruct, while gold sponsor Golden Race will be at the ‘Golden Race Bar’ ahead of the official networking party on Wednesday September 13.

Watson added: “I’d like to explore the role of esports tournament organisers and rights holders in the world of data and how they can play their part in maximising exposure for their tournaments, using regulated betting as a mechanism, and making a few smart and simple decisions along the way.”

The strong sports focus for the event is emphasised by the second day ‘Sport in Focus’ track, headlined by Leicester Tigers’ Chris Rose, Head of Brand for the 10-time English rugby champions, and Jaap Kalma, Commercial Director for the second most successful side in European Cup history, AC Milan.

Rose commented: “Leicester Tigers lead the way in professional rugby, and have recently agreed the largest club betting partnership with Leo Vegas. I will be talking about why rugby and betting have been behind football in the past, what opportunities there are for the future, and why Leo Vegas are great partners to do it with.”

Helping Rose and Kalma to put ‘Sport in Focus’ at #boscon2017 will be Tottenham Hotspur, a new sponsor for the event, PAOK Basketball President Bane Prelevic and Simon Schleich, Managing Director at e|motion sports GmbH Germany, the tennis event organiser, as well as Phil Suddick, Integrity Manager at the Tennis Integrity Unit.
