Okada wants to participate in infrastructure projects

Japanese casino mogul Kazuo Okada has reportedly made a courtesy call to President Duterte, expressing his desire to participate in infrastructure projects.

“Mr. Okada specifically expressed his desire to bid for the international airport. He believes the airport is your first contact and so your airport, if well designed and efficient, people will talk about that and more tourists will come together,” said his Filipino business partner Antonio “Tonyboy” Cojuangco.

According to the Philippine Star, Okada conveyed his commitment to help the new administration with infrastructure projects - particularly those that boost tourism.

“It was a time to congratulate the President and he expressed support to the new administration and Mr. Okada informed him we are doing our best to develop the tourism industry,” said Cojuangco.

Okada and Cojuangco are partners in Okada Manila, the new casino resort opening in Manila in November.

Okada Manila is the third integrated resort to complete the Entertainment City in Parañaque, featuring a 100 meter dancing water fountain and indoor beach, a total of 993 deluxe rooms, over 500 gaming tables and 3,000 electronic gaming machines.

The resort could cost $3 billion in the first phase and reach $4 billion when three more phases are built.
