Okura flags positive profit alert for six months ended Dec 31


Japanese pachinko operator Okura Holdings Limited says it expects to record a significant increase in net profit for the six months ended December 31, 2018.

In a filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Okura said it expected to record a significant increase in net profit before of not less than JPY 90 million (US$813,172) in the half year, mainly attributable to a decrease in hall operating expenses.

The company said that it has made a continued effort in streamlining its operations such as the closure of the BA. Kamata Hall in April 2018 which contributed an operating loss in the prior year period.
