Operators fight ordinance banning online gaming

At least three rummy operators, Ace2Three, Rummy Circle and Junglee Rummy have approached the Telangana & Andhra High Court challenging the ordinance banning online rummy, local media reports.

Last week, Telangana’s state cabinet approved the ordinance to ban online gaming on Saturday, which includes skill-games such as rummy.

Online rummy operators based out of Telangana including Ace2Three have since shut their operations entirety while others have stopped accepting players from Telangana, which is one of the biggest markets for rummy.

The rummy operators have asked for interim relief to continue operations until the matter is finally decided by the court.
