Pagcor reports casino GGR up 6.5 pct in 17Q2


The Philippines casino industry saw its gaming revenue rise 6.5 percent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2017, reaching P39.1 billion (US$759 million), according to data released by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).

The country also reported P6.2 billion in revenue from e-Gaming sites, making total industry gross gaming revenue reaching P45.3 billion.

Casino resorts from Entertainment City, which include City of Dreams Manila, Okada Manila, Resorts World Manila and Solaire Resort and Casino recorded an increase in gaming revenue of 25.9 percent in the quarter, while gaming revenue from Pagcor-owned casinos fell slightly, down 6.1 percent year-on-year.

The data, which was released last week, also gave a breakdown of revenue from junket, non-junket and EGMs.

In the second quarter of 2017, non-junket revenue reached P12.2 billion, making up for 39.7 percent of the total, while EGM revenue reached P8.5 billion, and junket revenue came in at P10 billion.
