Paradise July revenue jumps 19 percent


Paradise Co, which operates four casinos in South Korea, reported a 19 percent gain in July revenue, driven by table games.

The company had revenue of KRW74.1 billion ($60.9 billion), up from KRW62.2 billion the prior year.

Revenue from table games jumped 21 percent to KRW70.5 billion, although machine sales were down 8.9 percent to KRW3.6 billion. Sales were 3.5 percent higher than in June. 

Paradise, which releases monthly casino revenue figures, operates the Walker-Hill casino, the Jeju Grand, the Busan Casino and Incheon Paradise City. The latter is a joint venture with Japan’s Sega Sammy and the country’s first integrated resort.

From Jan. to July, the operator said casino revenue was also up 19 percent to KRW525.6 billion. Table revenue was up 20.1 percent and machine revenue was up 5.4 percent.

The group also reported strong growth in table drop from Jan. to July, with a gain of 25 percent to KRW4 trillion, although for the month of July only it saw a drop of 9.4 percent.
