POGO licensees must register with PH tax bureau

International gaming operators operating under the POGO license in the Philippines will be required to register with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), it said.

According to the revenue memorandum circular No.78-2018 released by the BIR, any foreign corporation engaged in POGO (engaging in online activities) will be considered as a Resident Foreign Corporation engaged in business in the Philippines.

The BIR said this will include any business entities or persons engaged in the business of offshore operations, including their agents, and service providers licensed and authorized by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).

The BIR has also stipulated that all Foreign-based and Philippine-based Operators, including those who have already been issued an Offshore License by PAGCOR, are required to register with the Bureau of Internal Revenue before the commencement of business, or payment of any tax due, whichever comes first.
