Police recover $70,000 in stolen chips

Macau’s Judiciary Police (PJ) has recovered HK$600,000 (US$70,000) that was stolen from a casino player back in early May, according to a PJ spokesperson.

The case was initially reported by security of a Cotai casino on May 3, after receing a complaint from the player claiming a group of men had stolen a total of six gaming chips worth HK$100,000 each.

According to PJ, the theft was a coordinated effort from the group, with some sneaking the chips away, some in charge of exchanging the chips for cash and others posted as lookouts.
